Hi, my name is Craig Tvedt and I’m the owner of The Uptown Trainer formerly Craig Tvedt Fitness. Thanks for checking out my site!

I started my official career as a personal trainer 7 years ago when I was living in Los Angeles, CA. Since then I’ve had the privilege of working with clients in New York City and now call Dallas home.

As the owner of The Uptown Trainer I’ve helped countless clients achieve their health and fitness goals. I’ve worked with clients from ages 16 to 72 helping them lose weight, get in shape for their wedding, get stronger, run their first half marathon, improve their marathon time, learn their way around the gym, recover from surgeries and prepare to keep up with their grandkids as they entire retirement! I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my clientele and am committed to on-going continuing education.

I’ve been certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the premier professional organization dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning profession around the world since the beginning of my career. In 2012 I joined the luxury fitness club Equinox and worked as a Tier 3 Coach while living in New York City and Dallas. While living in New York City I received my Masters degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Queens College.

After five successful years as an Equinox Coach I decided to pursue my own endeavors and started The Uptown Trainer. I’m committed to providing my clients with the same level of quality and service they’ve come to expect only on my terms now. I train my clients either at the gym in my building or their building. No gym in your building, no problem! I also work out of Diesel Fitness in the West Village.

While I’ve helped many people reach their different fitness goals I specialize in the following types of training:

  • Pre/Post-Natal Training

Additionally, I hold the following nationally recognized certifications:

An avid runner for 14 years I enjoy running and have completed 15 half marathons including countless Disneyland and Disney World Halves, numerous New York Road Runner Halves as well as the New York City Marathon. My first love has always been strength training and have been a “gym rat” since I went away to college at UC Davis. I also enjoy outdoor activities, going to the movies, Starbucks coffee and catching up with friends!
